BioNcube of ICRISAT

The BioNcube of ICRISAT is an initiative of the Agri-Business Incubator and Platform for Translational Research on Transgenic Crops of ICRISAT, and supported by the Bio-NEST Program of the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), Department of Bio-Technology (DBT) of Government of India.

BioNcube aims to create and promote agri-biotechnology (agbio) ventures through its proof of concept, prototype development and validation cycles for enhanced adoption using the technical capacities of ICRISAT and its partners.

  • To strengthen state-of-art incubation and translational research facilities to promote agricultural biotechnologies through public-private partnerships.
  • To link “incubation to translation” and support agribiotech start-ups from proof-of- concept stage through to technology translation and commercialization.
  • To support technology valuation, entrepreneurship development in the agribiotech sector.
